We have decided to discontinue the 1/2″ rope, as the 3/8″ double braid was far more popular with fisherman, because it outperforms the 1/2″ in every category. See Fish Fighter™ Ultimate Double Braid Anchor Rope 3/8″
When you are looking for a quality anchor rope, it can be a bit confusing because of the different braids and materials out there. We will put your mind at ease when you purchase our Fish Fighter FFP500™ Solid Braid Anchor Rope. This anchor rope is strong, yet lightweight and soft. The shock-absorbing elasticity of cord allows it to withstand great strain, while its solid-braided construction stays round. Our Fish Fighter FFP500™ Anchor Line is very flexible, and easy to knot. It is very soft in your hand, but offers great grip. We offer this rope in a ½” diameter for those who like the feel of larger diameter ropes, or have larger boats. Most customers who buy this rope have boats that are 28ft or longer, or weigh over 7,500lb fully-loaded. It has a breaking strength of 4,200 lbs, is designed to resist rot, mildew, abrasions, and most chemicals, and carries the Fish Fighter™ 100% money-back guarantee.
Rope selection Guidelines:
· Boat Length: 19ft to 26ft — Use FFP3875 Single Braid 3/8” Anchor Rope (2,800lb Break Strength)
· Boat Length: 27ft to 30ft — Use FFP500 Single Braid 1/2” Anchor Rope (4,200lb Break Strength)
· Boat Length: 22ft to 32ft — Use FFP Ultimate Double Braid 3/8” Anchor Rope (4,625 Break Strength)
It’s very hard to tell you what size of rope to use because of so many factors: From river currents, to the size and weight of boat you have. We recommend that you use the lightest rope, with the lowest break strength you can. The guidelines shown are just guidelines. We recommend that you give your local Coast Guard or local Boat Dealer a call, and ask them for their recommendations.
